PALOMAR KNOT

-

One of the simpler fishing knots and generally considered one of the most reliable to tie a line to a hook or fly to a leader – especially in braided lines.

There’s a variation of the Palomar that has the final loop positioned up against the shaft of the hook (we used a carabiner for illustrative purposes) instead of being pulled down further around the bight.

 ?? ?? Step 1
Feed your line through the eye of the hook, and then back in the opposite direction, but make sure the loop is at least big enough for your hook.

 ?? ?? Step 2
Tie an overhand knot with the doubled line and feed the hook through the loop.
