Washroom in Stealth caravans

-

Stealth’s X-Country 594 and Sprinter 594 models now come with a loo each. In fact, these two models are what they’re now calling the X-Country 592 ES and Sprinter 592 ES.

The original models have a dinette in the rear that can be folded down to form a double bed. The dinette area for the new 592 ES is being remodelled to fit the washroom here instead.

Garry Coady, managing director of Stealth, says the reason is partly because buyers prefer an indoor toilet thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a ‘dry’ washroom, meaning there’s no shower, but a cassette toilet and hand basin. According to Garry, customers do seek the convenience of such a washroom, but they also don’t want to lose the dining area. And so, a section of the dinette, which previously stretched over the entire width of the caravan, is retained for that purpose. The washroom occupies the other two thirds.

According to Garry’s research, 40% of caravan users prefer a dry washroom, 30% a full bathroom and the other 30% a dry washroom with an outdoor shower. The latter is what they chose – the 592 ES has the option of an outdoor shower.

“With our 592 ES, we should therefore meet 70-80% of users’ needs,” says Garry. Price Sprinter 592 ES R359 870; X-Country 592 ES R399 238 Contact stealthcaravans.co.za
