Trailer Cuff gets a padlock

-

Trailer Cuff, which has been manufacturing a coupler locking mechanism for caravans and other trailers since 2015, has just added its own imported padlock. The mechanism consists of, among other things, a clamp that fits around the neck of the ball, the chain and lock.

It is a 8 mm alloy chain with a breaking force of 3,5 tonnes.

A loose ball that looks just like the towbar’s ball is also part of the package. It fits into the caravan’s coupler which you then lock so it can’t be stolen by caravan thieves.

The locking mechanism is available in two sizes: the standard version with a 40 mm padlock and 7 mm shackle, and the Trailer Cuff Plus: a 50 mm lock with a shackle of 10 mm.

The main part of the new lock and the shackle are made of stainless steel.

The Trailer Cuff fits over the old cast iron couplers, but also the latest clip-over couplers. Other than allowing you to lock your caravan to your car or by itself, the mechanism also ensures that your caravan does not accidentally unhitch while being towed.

Price R999 for the standard version and R1 449 for the Plus.
