MARTIAL EAGLES (Polemaetus bellicosus)

Martial eagles are the largest of the African eagles, powerful enough to knock down an adult human.

They weigh around 6,5 kg and have a wingspan of almost 2 metres (193 cm).

Their diet consists of monkeys, small goats, lambs, snakes, large lizards and impala calves.

Nests are built in trees, at a height from

6 to 24 m above ground, often in the largest tree in the area.
