If you really want to anger a farmer you should speed past his homestead in a cloud of dust or neglect to close his gates behind you.

Should enough people do this, a farmer might lock his gates – and only he and his neighbour will have a key – and then no one else will get to enjoy these beautiful back roads. Be polite on rural roads if you want to retain access to them.
