World-renowned
RSI DC EVO SPORT RANGER
Designed to withstand harsh African terrain, the RSI SmartCap range has an international reputation and is popular in both the American and Australian markets, where overlanding in rugged terrain is as popular as it is here. RSI insists on fashioning the Evo model out of steel so that it’s able to withstand a fair amount of weight on top (150 kg in transit, and 349 kg while stationary).
Despite its tough credentials, the Evo also features a positive pressure filtered air vent to keep the air inside clean, while the gullwing doors on the sides feature bonded glass windows. There’s a third brake light above the rear window, and universal roof rails if you’re not planning to fit a custom rack anytime soon. If you need to reach for something at the rear from the cabin while you’re moving, then there’s also a sliding front window for easy access.
Price R35 219 (double-cab) from 4x4 MegaWorld.
Drive & Camp says The Front Slider Window isn’t available on the Evo models that fit the Volkswagen Amarok, though on the Ford Ranger pictured here, it’s a perfect fit.
