On one of our Facebook posts, we talk about preparing for a long tour. Cedric Pieterse believes a big issue is weight.

“I’ve spent more than six years travelling through Africa. Most of the people I met who had trouble had overloaded their vehicle. So, for instance, a tyre burst or the chassis gave way. Even if you have the best suspension on your bakkie, the chassis remains the ‘weak point’. Keep your vehicle as light as possible and rather save the money you might spend on unnecessary items.”
