Should I buy secondhand?
Definitely! In the 15 years that Liesel and I have been married, we’ve owned 18 vehicles between the two of us. It doesn’t matter how old it is; the Jeep drives comfortably, it’s large enough and he has enough power for my needs.
I appreciate the packing space, and although our two boys are old enough that we do not need space for prams and baby carriages, we always have lots of baggage. The Jeep is reliable and I won’t hesitate to drive it to Durban – I’m not at all worried about it not making it.
On the open road, it gives me a consumption figure of 11,1 ℓ/100 km (9 km/ℓ) and in the city, it drops to 13,3 ℓ/100 km (7,5 km / ℓ). But really, is it any surprise considering the nature and weight of the vehicle? I don’t think I will drive anything other than a Jeep again.
