Cranking up your bait

When you’ve got your eye on a black bass, tigerfish or even yellowfish and the water depth is 1-2 m where you expect the fish, consider Komatsu’s Shallow Shad Crankbait. The so-called crankbait lures have a hard body and two sets of tri-hooks, and the different sizes of lips determine its diving depth. The larger the lip, the deeper the bait goes. When you let the line go, the bait floats upwards. If you then start reeling it in again, it heads back down. The Shallow Shad is an excellent imitation of a fish and 8 cm long. It has an enticing swimming movement as you reel it in, and there are five versions available: Perch, sardine, bream, baby bass and mullet. It weighs 13 g, which means you can cast it about 25 m.
