UGAB RHINO CAMP

Important This camp is currently closed because of the ‘lion situation’. You visit at own risk. In normal times they offer cold water showers and pit toilets. Bring your own drinking water. No power. Price A donation towards Save the Rhino Trust Namibia. We suggest R100 to R150 per person (bring cash). Contact None. You can just arrive. There is no cell phone signal.

MADISA CAMP

The private stands are big and each has a covered area where you can relax in partial shade. You have your own shower (hot water) and flush toilet. Bigger groups can stay in the overlander site with its shared bathroom. Price R240 per person sharing (max 6 people per stand) for a private stand and R180 per person sharing on the overlander site (max 10 people). BRANDBERG WHITE LADY LODGE

Their campsite is spread out next to the Ugab River where big trees like ana trees, camel thorn and leadwood grow. You share a bathroom with your neighbour. The caretaker lights a fire under the donkey in the morning and evening for hot water. No power, but you can charge devices at reception. Meals available at restaurant. BRANDBERG REST CAMP

Co-owned by Basil Calitz, this wellestablished place in the main street of Uis has one of those back stoeps ideal for listening to late-night stories. They have camping (with power), neat rooms, a restaurant, and a pool that’s half Olympic sized. (The mine uses the pool as reservoir and sometimes pump the water out.)
