Curls galore

-

What immediately attracts your attention are the bright curly shapes of the plant’s leaves, even if you’re initially not quite sure what it is. You can stand for a while and look at all the leaf shapes in different colours. Then, to the left of the photo is a separate leaf that reveals much more than one might think.

When you first notice the dry leaf, you realize that you’re actually looking at a plant. Because it’s so small, it doesn’t instantly catch your eye. The leaf is therefore an important point of reference in the photograph, even if it doesn’t form part of the focal point.

The leaf loses this role when you make the photo black and white. Then the bright curly shapes take over and you simply stand back to enjoy the shapes and forms of the leaves.
