Lure on a leash

-

If you want to try out floating artificial bait, have a go with Adrenalin’s HB Pencil bait. This type of artificial bait is also known as walking or stick bait. A well-known technique for reeling in this type of lure is with the so-called walk-the-dog action. You cast the bait to the farthest point away from you, get the line slightly tighter, and give a first pull. Now you starting reeling it in evenly, but at regular intervals, you pluck the line again. It makes the bait swim back and forth on the water surface and appears to be a struggling prey to predatory fish. It easily attracts the attention of black bass, but a grunter in salt water can also be fooled, as it looks like a shrimp struggling on the water’s surface. The bait comes in two different sizes and designs, and five colours. The HB80 has a curved abdomen with a round jaw cavity that splashes water as you reel it in. The bait is, therefore, 80 mm long but also has a loose ball inside its hollow body that emits a sound. The HB100 is slightly longer, has a back that curves downward, and its ball makes an even louder sound. Both have threedimensional eyes to make it look even more realistic. The chances of a predatory fish getting away once the bait is in its mouth are slim, as they all boast a set of VMC’s triple hooks. As with other floating lures, early morning and late afternoon are some of the best times to throw this one in. It works even better in clear water on windless days, especially with a few clouds in the sky. Price From R69 each.
