Go! Drive & Camp

I ALSO WANT TO GO!

-

Can I go on my own? Yes, but only if you know how to recover a vehicle stuck in sand. How long is it? About 1 000 km. What should I drive? You need a fourwheel drive vehicle if you want to visit the Namaqua National Park’s coastal section. Low range and a diff lock aren’t essential if you stay on the main track. Pack a tyre-pressure gauge, tyre-repair set and a compressor. Do I need to take extra fuel? No, there are petrol stations in Velddrif, Lamberts Bay, Lutzville, Koingnaas, Port Nolloth, and Alexander Bay. Can I tow my caravan? Yes, as long as it’s an off-road one, and you don’t mind towing it through thick sand.
