The Limited, the flagship of the Ford Everest Series, is properly geared for towing. With its 2 ℓ twin-turbodiesel engine and 500 Nm of torque, it could tow a train. The removable towbar comes standard, and when you insert the caravan’s plug, the computer automatically detects the caravan – aids including the blind-spot sensors and the reverse alarm are deactivated. You’d think that with 20” tyres the ride would be bumpy on a dirt road, as there isn’t much rubber between the road and the rim. Plus, the extra weight on the towbar should put further strain on the suspension. But the ride is far from bumpy; in fact, you don’t even feel the dirt road. You just have to pay attention or you’ll start towing too fast.
