Decked’s system comes from America where it’s mainly used by artisans who are looking for a safe storage space in the back of their bakkie for tools – that’s also why there’s a ruler on the back lip of the top of the drawers.

Both drawers are made from recycled high-density polyethylene and are lockable and water resistant. The frame is galvanised steel. The top of the drawers can handle 1 t, so you do not have to sacrifice your truck’s maximum load capacity. Each drawer can take 100 kg, there are fastening points, and the partitions inside the drawers can be removed if you want to load long items such as folded beach umbrellas.

Decked provides a tutorial that shows you how to assemble it, but there are also videos on YouTube that explain the process step by step. It’s easy to install, and you don’t have to drill holes in the boot of your rig, although you can if you want to make sure the charging system doesn’t go anywhere.
