Go! Drive & Camp

Settle down against the Crocodile

-

The Bergrivier Lodge & Caravan Park is a new campsite 12 km outside Brits, North West, on the R511, the Thabazimbi road. The 38 ha piece of land is owned by Johan and Jolene Lourens and borders the Crocodile River for 1,6 km. They offer various accommodation options, including chalets and a campsite divided into three.

As you enter the grounds, you will find the restaurant and bar first, followed by the swimming pool. There are two 7 m long slides side by side that end in the pool.

Three stands are laid out next to the swimming pool and there is an ablution block. Just like the rest of the other 15 stands, you’re on a lawn under lovely shade trees. The facilities on each stand include a power point (the regular domestic as well as the blue caravan type), a brick braai area with a grid, and a tap. The 10 stands along the river, also with their own ablutions, are 500 m farther along. Here you may fish (at no extra cost). Listen out – you’ll probably hear the call of a fish eagle…

To get to the third group of stands, you keep right after the gate. They’re about 600 m up a low hill on a dirt road a sedan will cope with. The five stands here have trees and grass, but also a garden. From here, you have a lovely view of the ridges in front of you with the river flowing by at the bottom. They’re planning on adding a mini golf course as well.

Price R500 pn per stand for the first four people; thereafter R150 pp (free for kids under 10). Contact 083 626 0549 bergrivierlodge@gmail.com BergRivier Lodge & Karavaan Park
