CORNER STEADIES

-

STEADY NOW. If you plan to store your caravan for months at a time with the wheels removed or in the air, you can’t simply let it rest on the corner steadies. Add some extra support under the axles to prevent cracks from forming above the door. If you’re storing your caravan for six months or longer, remove the wheels or lift them up off the ground. Tyres don’t like standing for months at a time. You can’t let your caravan rest on the corner steadies for such a long time, however, so you have to support the axle with blocks. Your caravan’s weakest area is around the door. If you don’t support it under the axle and allow it to ‘hang’ on the corner steadies, the outside panel above the door will crack. Potholes often get the blame for these cracks, but that’s not the case.
