Purple mover goes 4x4

-

Purple Line is world renowned for its caravan movers and has just released its latest model.

Instead of just one drive roller, the new Quattro model has two. However, it looks more like two wheels than drum-like. The roller in conventional movers is predominantly pressed against the centre of the caravan’s tyre, while the Quattro’s two wheels push closer to the outer edges – but still on the tread – of the tyre. The “old” model’s gearbox uses grease as a lubricant, where the Quattro has a sealed gearbox filled with oil. At a gradient of 15%, the Quattro has a 500 kg higher weight power output (2 500 kg versus 2 000 kg), it uses half the electrical power (meaning you can use a smaller battery in the trailer for the mover) , the operation is quieter when you measure it from a metre away from the mover (50 db versus 80 db) and have a 12% improved speed (18 cm/s versus 16 cm/s).

Of course, caravan movers come in a set (one for each side) and work with a wireless remote control. It uses a smart system where you can even see on the remote if it detects an error somewhere in the system. For example, it can track the power of the battery, and if it picks up a fault, it can tell you where the fault lies. Contact 012 813 8528 purplesa.co.za
