Upfront
This model uses a Iveco chassis, powered by a 2,3 ℓ turbodiesel engine that sends 100 kw and 320 Nm to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, which you can override in a manual mode, or leave to its own devices in pre-programmed Eco or Power modes. The Eco mode is obviously the fuel-saver, which keeps engine speed as low as possible in the highest possible gear ratio. Conversely, Power mode drops a gear, and holds the revs a lot longer depending on how much stick you give.
The driver’s seat is adjustable six ways, but the steering column is only reach-adjustable, so you can’t determine the rake, forcing you to sit upright – much like a lorry driver. Because the Discoverer 4 is a foursleeper, your passengers are well catered for and have their own seats with seatbelts behind the front dinette.
