Fully fitted

The kitchen is to the right as you come in through the door. The worktop is long and wide and in the middle are two tinted glass lids. The one on the left is the more rectangular of the two and lifting it backward on its rear hinges reveals three gas burners. On the right, under the lid that’s squarer and closer to the door, you’ll find a sink. The mixer tap is recessed in the stainless steel under the lid, and it swivels up when you need to do the dishes or rinse veggies.

Above the worktop on the left and against the bulkhead are wooden shelves that make the perfect storage for your spice collection, and here the supplier places a box of matches, a candle and glass candle holder. There’s also a handheld torch. On the right side up against the bottom of a shelf is an LED strip with three brightness settings so you don’t have to work in the dark. The shelf above is where the Defy microwave oven fits snugly and to the right of that, next to the door, are another two shelves that could hold your keys, wallets or anything else you would want to grab before you walk out the door.

Under the worktop on the left is the cutlery drawer complete with enough eating utensils for four, including knives, forks, spoons, teaspoons, steak knives, tin opener, a pair of scissors, vegetable peeler, whisk and cheese knife, bread knife, serving spoon, spatula, tongs and wooden mixing spoon. Below is another draw with a large block of foam that has cut-outs for four plates, four side plates, four bowls, and four glass mugs. The last drawer has small and large teapots, two cooking pots and a saucepan.

Next to the drawers is a cupboard with two shelves. You’re limited for space because the sink drops down into almost half of the top shelf’s space, but it’s more than enough room for rubbish bags, dishcloths and dishwashing liquid. On the lower shelf, you can find a couple of mixing bowls, plastic containers, a cutting board and a pan.
