Go! Drive and Camp Camp Guide

Nooks and crannies

There’s plenty of storage room in and around the Discoverer 4, and spaces that the manufacturer has maximised. To the left of the door on the outside is the portal through which you remove the toilet cassette. Behind the rear axle on the left, there’s a space with a flip-up lid, in which you store the motorhome’s fold-up table and camping chairs. The spare wheel is mounted underneath the rear window and has its own cover.

Around the right side is another space that matches the one at the left rear and houses the lone camping chair that doesn’t fit on the other side, a jerry can, and a large wheel brace. The circuit breaker can also be found here and looks just like the one at home. In front of the rear axle, there’s a smaller compartment where the gas cylinders sit, then there’s the electricity supply socket (your Discoverer comes with an extension cable and domestic and Fredlin fitting). The last slot is where you fill the 60 ℓ water tank.

Starting upfront inside, there are at least five slots in the plastic facia that you can slide wallets, keys, and important documents into, and two deep cup holders on the far ends.

The fibreglass moulding that angles from the motorhome’s roof down onto the front of the windshield is where the bedding is stored, and its cupboard door is the one that’s facing you as you get in from the rear and turn towards the cab. This is also where you find the planks and cushions to complete the second bed.

On the right side above the window are your towels and there’s a tiny bit of packing space next to that before the block of foam that hold all the glasses in place. Behind that and above the fridge is a wardrobe with hangers for your coats and jackets.

You have another cupboard to pack larger items of clothing on the right side at the rear, plus two larger cupboard doors for more clothing. Behind the kitchen on the left-hand side are two more cupboards. Most of the corners in the Discoverer have rounded shelves with seethrough fronts that look like little balconies.

Underneath the rear-facing seats in front is the geyser, plus storage space for a bucket, washbasin, hand broom and dustpan. The bench on the opposite site holds a small safe where you can keep valuables under lock and key.
