Go! Drive and Camp Camp Guide

Mobile barracks

The Recce has two doors – one on each side – that can be locked from the inside and the outside. Before you can get in, you must first swing down a stepladder. At the back of the camper is a table and two benches with seating for four. The table and benches convert to a double bed at night (1,6 m long and 1,68 m wide). At the top of the bed (or table) there are five hollows with shelves for clothes and bedding.

On the right wall is a window that can open, and above it extra storage space. On the left wall there is more storage space, and by zipping open a flap you get access to the food cupboard that is usually reached from the outside. This feature is especially useful if you want to have a snack at night, but don’t want to get out in the cold to open the cupboard from the outside.

There are also two fans to cool you down and a reading light above the bed. Near the left door is a panel with switches, a battery-monitoring system, USB and 12 V power sockets, a DVD player and a flat-screen TV. We need to mention that despite the Recce’s excellent air suspension, the TV broke off its adjustable arm when we drove a rough 4x4 route. Conqueror provides a strap with which to secure the TV to the wall, but clearly all the rocking and rolling defeated it.
