Cop praised on re­tire­ment

AF­TER 36 years of ded­i­cated and dili­gent ser­vice, Lieu­tenant Colonel Zweledinga Nkonyeni re­ceived a warm send-off at the Cam­bridge de­tec­tive of­fices on Tues­day.

Fol­low­ing his re­tire­ment, Nkonyeni was praised for his im­mense con­tri­bu­tion in the fight against crime and his ster­ling work.

Speak­ing at the event, both Bri­gadier Pumla Md­lankomo and THE de­tec­tive head, Colonel Nom­ntu Tyafu, com­mended the out­go­ing of­fi­cer for the en­ergy he had for his work even while his ca­reer was near­ing its end.

Bri­gadier Md­lankomo said she had once joked with him to ex­tend his stay in the ser­vice .

She, how­ever, wished him well in his re­tire­ment and to have a good time with his fam­ily.

Nkonyeni re­ceived a Good Ser­vice Cer­tifi­cate as well as a Cen­te­nary Medal for ap­pre­ci­a­tion and ac­knowl­edg­ment for his hard work by Bri­gadier Md­lankomo.
