Regular eye checks vital

Go! & Express - - GO! SCHOOLS -

Our eyesight is a precious gift which we should not take for granted. Having regular eye checks will ensure that any sight-threatening problems or systemic diseases do not go undiagnosed.

A key factor in an eye exam is the digital retinal photograph which is taken of the inside of the eye.

The information gained can indicate systemic diseases, including diabetes and hypertension, or even a brain tumour. Glaucoma and macular degeneration are also more easily identified with this technology.

An optometric eye exam also reveals the need for dry eye treatment or spectacles to help with our ever-increasing use of digital devices. Blocking out blue light, or reflected light when outdoors, can easily be accomplished by adding a special filter to one’s spectacles.

See your optometrist to have peace of mind that your visual demands are being adequately met.
