Guardians of Hope potjiekos family fun
Guardians of Hope will be hosting a potjie competition and family fun day on Saturday at Shofar Christian Church in Beacon Bay at 12pm.
The entry fee is R250 per team of one to four people. The potjies will be judged at 12pm and served at 1pm for R40.
Founder and house mother Elaine Brenkman said the purpose of the event was to create awareness of the organisation while raising funds.
“We provide a home, love and care to abandoned babies, as well as those given up at birth by their parents. Wherever possible, we seek and support family reunification. If not, we support adoption processes,” said Brenkman.
“We have 17 potjie entries so far. We would love to have 20 potjies and we expect at least 300 visitors on the day.
“Alternatively, bring your picnic basket, and enjoy a fun family day from 11am onwards. There will be refreshments, popcorn and candy floss on sale,” she said.
For more information or to enter the potjie competition please contact Nicole du Plooy on 084-520-3242 or e-mail her at email@example.com.
