EL-born Dali spreading hope

East London-born motivational speaker Daluxolo Jalmeni said he hoped to encourage and inspire the youth to become better versions of themselves as they started a new year.

Jalmeni, affectionately known as Dali, has been on a drive to spread his mission of positivity, self-awareness and self-development with young people of school-going age.

He had previously been visiting high schools and tertiary institutions across Johannesburg, where he has been based for the last six years.

“I came home last year and decided to visit some schools here in my hometown before I head back to Johannesburg.

“I feel that it is very important for young people to know that they are capable of so much if they just work hard and realise their full potential and not allow their circumstances to limit them,” said Jalmeni.

Jalmeni started his radio career at Link FM, often posting videos of his broadcasts on Instagram and tagging his idol DJ Sbu.

After months of hard work, Jalmeni finally received the recognition he was looking for. He was offered the opportunity to move to Johannesburg which he grabbed, with the goal of furthering his career in the industry.

Jalmeni has built a name for himself as a radio broadcaster, social media influencer and motivational speaker.

“I have spoken at many schools in Johannesburg; I want to be the voice in their heads that motivates them to get up. I want them to understand that their dreams are possible and you can make them become a reality,” he said.

“God has endowed you with the gift of purpose and the ability and whatever you want to do in this world.

“Whatever you want to achieve, you can do it.”
