Beloved club rises from ashes

New venue for Rhythm Bar

- FAITH MTWANA

After the popular and wellloved Rhythm Bar closed down in 2017, a fairly large group of East London patrons lost their favourite hangout spot. It’s a new year and club owner Jason Ioaniddes has decided to launch a new bar in the East London CBD that will offer a better vibe and experience to anyone looking for a good time in a safe and secure environment.

The new club is situated at the Old Supa Bets building next to Nick’s Food SPAR in town.

Ioaniddes is excited for this new venture and aims to provide only the best East London club experience.

“I have never been as excited as I am now to be opening this new club of mine.

“It is a place that is affordable to all people that enjoy dressing up and having a great time in a very safe and secure environment.

“In the area that I am in now, there are only taverns.

“I am raising the standard 10 notches that in time will be beneficial for the CBD because it will encourage all the taverns to clean up the businesses and keep it clean and safe,” he said.

This is significant, as the first Rhythm Bar closed down due to continuous struggles with residents regarding noise complaints and other disruptions in the community.

After taking a few years to himself, Ioaniddes went back to the drawing board and is ready to implement the lessons he learned from that experience.

“I’ve learnt that in business, and also life in general, never get discouraged.

“There will always be someone that will always try bring you down. I have always put all my trust in God and believe there is always something better coming for me. It just takes time, patience and the will to never give up,” said Ioaniddes.

According to Ioaniddes, the new building is three times bigger than the previous one, which will ease over-crowding.

There will also be a larger parking space for guests to use and avoid parking spaces meant for surrounding businesses.

He also promises that there will be no noise complaints of cars playing music outside, as the area will be well-regulated.

The official launch of the bar will take place on Friday March 31, at the new location.

The launch party boasts an exciting line up of local DJs and performers including Misser HouseFanatic, TK Legend, LV The Messiah and many others.

The club also has pool tables, a cocktail and gin bar and a VIP section. The first 200 patrons will get free shooters.
