Ceiling fans

-

This is a great way to work up a breeze on days when there’s not a breath of wind. “Ceiling fans work better than freestanding ones, because the blades are bigger and they usually have a more powerful motor. Check that the blades turn anti-clockwise (when you’re looking up at the fan from the floor), as this pushes the air down, says Melissa Davidson of The Lighting Warehouse. Tip A ceiling fan with four or five blades is more effective than one with only three blades. And the motor should be 60W or larger, says Melissa.
