The house of hodge-podge
De Malle Meul is a browser’s delight. You’ll find anything from earthenware and art (it’s the only place in town where Pieter van der Westhuizen’s work is sold) to freshly baked farm bread and other delicacies from the area. It also has a restaurant that offers a Sunday buffet second to none. This pleasant gathering place got its name from the mill that was erected on the premises in 1908 and remained operational until 1976. Some of its impressive machinery is still visible under the floor.
