Sowing time varies from farm to farm but April and May tend to be the best months. Weather conditions are closely monitored because, ideally, farmers want to get the seed into the soil before the rains arrive. Some like to plant during the first winter rains and others wait till the last minute. Whatever their decision, once the wheels start turning they will work day and night to sow their seeds.
