The ice pool

Cristobal Serrano, Spain

-

This aerial image of an iceberg in the Errera Channel in Antarctica was made using a lownoise drone, which Cristobal flew high so as not to disturb the sleeping crabeater seals. The bird’s-eye perspective revealed a shallow, heart-shaped pool in the centre of the iceberg – bright and blue in contrast with the deep, dark ocean all around. “Humans have tried to master the art of sculpture, but icebergs show us we are no match for nature’s great design,” says Cristobal. His photo was the winner in the “Creative Visions” category.

HOW? DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus, 8.8 – 24 mm lens, shutter speed 1/120 second, aperture f4.5, ISO 100.
