Shop till you drop

Suidpunt Potpourri in Main Road, L’Agulhas, has knick-knacks galore. You could spend a whole day browsing the wooden proteas, crochet work, beads and enamelware. There’s also a coffee shop and restaurant on site where you can order treats like sweet and savoury pancakes, smoked salmon salad, home-made venison pie, and fish and chips. Play paintball & Putt-Putt

The Struisbaai Fun Park in Main Road offers lots of activities for kids (and adults), like a water slide, PuttPutt, ten-pin bowling, jungle gyms, trampolines and paintball. There are also braai and picnic areas and pizzas made to order. Cost: Basic entrance fee R35 per adult, R25 per child under 6 – this includes a round of Putt-Putt and entrance to all the other areas (charged separately). If fishing doesn’t interest you, you can do a pleasure trip at sunset. Book well in advance, especially during the holidays. Crafty Pig The big bar counter overpowers the space somewhat, but the small eating area in the back is nice. Tuck into burgers, eisbein, ribs and pizza. Breakfast is also available.
