ADVENTURE ITINERARY DAY 1

We meet at Camp Nkwazi, just outside Livingstone. By the time you arrive, your tents would have been pitched and our bush chef will be preparing the first of the delicious meals you will be enjoying on this safari. The evening will be spent socialising around the fire.

DAY 2

We get an early start after breakfast. You will be issued twoway hand-held radios before we take to the road. We head to Lusaka where we will overnight on our way to South Luangwa National Park.

DAY 3

We continue our journey northwards, and overnight at a campsite just outside of Chipata.

DAYS 4, 5 & 6

Our campsite for the next few days is set on the banks of the Luangwa River. This is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world and you are free to explore the national park at your own leisure in your own vehicle. There will be no game viewing in convoy. We advise you to have a GPS with Tracks4Africa maps.

DAY 7

Today we cross over into Malawi and sleep in Lilongwe. There will be time for a trip to the old city market, where you can browse the colourful fruit, wooden carvings and African cloth. This is also a chance to stock up and refuel before heading to the lake.

DAYS 8, 9 & 10

We leave early for Lake Malawi, as we have half a day’s driving ahead to our camp on the shores of Lake Malawi. We’ll spend the next three nights in this spectacular place. One of the highlights of our stay here is a sunset boat cruise.

DAYS 11 & 12

Today we start our journey back home, with a stop at Kafue National Park along the way.

DAYS 13 & 14

This must be one of the most underrated parks in Africa. Kafue is Zambia’s oldest and largest national park. It is still relatively undeveloped and you can still get that feeling of true wilderness. Kasabushi Camp on the banks of the Kafue River is our home for the next two nights. A two-hour boat trip on the Kafue River is included.

DAY 15

Today we travel through the park to Nanzhila Plains, which teems with game. The birding in this area is also exceptional. Tonight’s campsite is situated at a waterhole, so you can sit and relax in camp, or take a drive around the area.

DAY 16

We leave the park behind and travel to Livingstone, where we will have our last dinner together around the fire.

DAY 17

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye.
