“My association with the Kgalagadi goes back many years. In the 1970s I did a B.Sc in Zoology and Botany. At that stage, the late Professor Fritz Eloff was dean of the Faculty of Zoology at the University of Pretoria, and our lecturer. He used to talk with such passion about the Kalahari and the research he’d done about the lions there.

“This sowed a little seed in my mind, and it’s safe to say that I’ve since become totally besotted with the Kgalagadi. I visit the park each year.”
