Swallows usually build their nests so high up they’re hard to see, which is why I was excited when I noticed swallows perched on the low roof of the Ratlhogo hide in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The birds didn’t pay much attention to the visitors – I waited for one to fly in with fresh mud for its nest.
