Coffee with a conscience

-

South Africa’s artisanal coffee scene has exploded in the past decade, which means we’re spoilt for choice. The next time you’re unable to choose a new brew, why not opt for Arise Coffee, an exciting collaboration between tree-planting NGO Greenpop, and Tribe Coffee Roastery.

With ethically sourced beans and carefully selected packaging, this is eco-friendly coffee like you’ve never tasted before. Why? For every 3 kg of coffee sold, a tree is planted at one of Greenpop’s forest restoration projects. It’s a genuine attempt to make coffee drinking ethical and affordable – to date, the NGO has planted 118 978 trees and four fynbos gardens across southern Africa.

Arise Coffee is available online (either bagged or in an eco can) from faithful-to-nature. co.za. Capetonians can also find it at Tribe Coffee Roasting ( tribecoffee.co.za) or Shop Zero ( shopzero.co.za) both situated in Woodstock.
