Braai marinade

You need

• 2 tablespoon­s tomato paste

• 1 tin (410 g) chopped tomatoes

• 2 tablespoon­s Worcesters­hire sauce • 2 tablespoon­s soya sauce

• 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

• 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

• ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

• ½ teaspoon ground cumin

• 2 tablespoon­s honey

• ½ cup olive oil

• sea salt, to taste

• ground black pepper, to taste

Here’s how

1 Add all the ingredient­s to a small potjie and simmer for 20 minutes over a medium heat without the lid. Stir the mixture frequently and lower the heat if it starts to catch at the bottom. 2 Use a stick blender to pulse the marinade until smooth. You can simmer it longer if you like a thicker texture.
