Chocolate tart with strawberries
Makes 1 tart
Preparation time 15 minutes Cooking time 5 minutes
Prepare this tart a day in advance so it can set in the fridge, especially if you’re going to serve it on a hot day.
You need
• 12 ginger snaps, crushed
• / cup butter, melted
• 1 cup cream
• 300 g dark chocolate, grated • 1 teaspoon brandy (optional) • 12 strawberries, halved
• 100 g white chocolate, melted
Here’s how
1 Mix the ginger crumbs and butter together. Line a 23 cm tin plate with the mixture and press it down to form a crust.
2 Heat the cream until close to boiling point and pour it over the dark chocolate in a mixing bowl. Set the bowl aside for a few minutes, then stir the mixture until smooth. Add the brandy and pour the mixture over the crust. Put the tart in the fridge or in a cool place to set.
3 Arrange the strawberries around the outer edge of the tart and drizzle over the white chocolate. Serve in slices, with a tipple or a cup of coffee.
