Karoo quality
As a family, we’ve visited the Karoo National Park near Beaufort West four times since 2014. We always enjoy our time in the park, whether we’re camping or staying in a chalet.
Our most recent visit was in April 2022. The park had just received good rain and the veld was lush. Animals were abundant: We saw rhino, zebra, kudu and eland. On our last day we drove the Lammertjiesleegte Loop in the hopes of seeing lion, but found nothing. Disappointed, we drove into town to refuel, and on the way back to the rest camp we spotted this lioness about 800 m from the camp gate! Two other lions also emerged from the bushes. They were very calm and we took lots of photos – my son Eben got this shot. We would like to thank the staff for all their hard work to maintain the park and accommodation facilities so well. Keep it up!
