FAN­COURT SETS CON­DI­TION­ING BENCH­MARK

Fan­court has again been rated as hav­ing the best con­di­tioned cour­ses. The Links at Fan­court re­ceived an av­er­age mark of 8.2 out of 10 from Golf Digest’s rat­ing team, while the Mon­tagu course’s mark was 8.0 and the Outeni­qua 7.75.

Only two cour­ses na­tion­wide re­ceived an av­er­age of 8 or bet­ter, which is re­garded as ex­cep­tional.

Fan­court has set the stan­dard for con­di­tion­ing ever since the re­sort was opened in the early 1990s. But sev­eral other cour­ses are close be­hind in terms of yearon-year ex­cel­lence, in­clud­ing St Fran­cis Links and Glen­dower which scored 7.90. The re­opened East Course at Royal J&K was rated at 7.70, just ahead of the Gary Player CC (7.65) and Pear­lVal­ley (7.62).

The gol ng world’s best Con­di­tion­ing mark be­longs to Au­gusta Na­tional, which scored 8.97 in the 2017-18 Amer­ica’s 100 Great­est Golf Cour­ses.Au­gusta still nished No 2 on the rank­ings be­hind PineVal­ley, which earned 8.69 for con­di­tion­ing.The worst con­di­tion­ing mark among Amer­ica’s 100 best was 7.37.
