George Golf Club have produced one of the best scorecards I have seen in South Africa, even globally. With most golf clubs having to print new scorecards due to the course rating changes, this was a good opportunity for clubs to improvise. Considerable thought and input from the George club captain Daryl Austin must have gone into their new scorecard.

It really ticks all the boxes for what golfers want from a scorecard. Everything is there in front of you, plus a few unexpected extras.

The card has space for all four players to record individual scores and Stableford points. Information includes the course designer, height above sea level, the holes where plus handicaps must concede strokes, and the flag colour pin placements.

The course etiquette requirements are there on the back page, including a request to play Ready Golf. Start and finish times for a round can be included. And there’s even a remarks box!
