With about 7g of plant-based protein and 9g of fibre per ½ cup, white beans (as well as chickpeas and broad beans) are satisfying swaps for grains or red meat in any vegetable medley or salad.
Plain unsweetened Greek yoghurt keeps you full, thanks to its 20g of protein per ⅔ cup. Top with fruit for breakfast or use as a base for a creamy dip.
These hearty root vegetables are packed with vitamin C and fibre, and have only about 210kJ per ½ cup. Slice and roast at a high heat to make turnip chips, or use instead of potatoes in a stir-fry.
These have selenium, an immune-boosting antioxidant that can help protect cells from damage. Plus, they’re quick to cook (about five minutes). Sauté for a side with dinner.
