Typical day’s food
6AM: A banana before gym BREAKFAST: Two boiled eggs and baby tomatoes SNACK: A small portion of tree nuts and a fruit LUNCH: Chicken/meat with a big serving of vegetables DINNER: A light meal served on a side plate – chicken/meat with salad or a vegetarian meal DRINKS: Lots of water throughout the day, coffee in the morning and rooibos tea any time
Back yourself. Enjoy any motivation you get from others, but it’s essential to learn to be your own cheerleader. No-one cares about your own health as much as you do.
Preparation is key. Prepare meals in advance; pack your gym bag the night before. I always have a packed lunch for work, so I rarely find myself hungry with nothing to eat.
Have fun. If you’re not enjoying what you’re eating or the exercise you’re doing, it’s going to be hard to stick to your lifestyle change.
