Here’s a quick task for you to complete before the holiday is up – start a family tradition of snapping a photo you’ll repeat each year

Good Housekeeping (South Africa) - - YOUR LIFE -

‘Every summer, my family would plan a big beach holiday with all our cousins,’ says parenting expert Jill Simonian, author of The Fab Mom’s Guide (Skyhorse Publishing). ‘At the end of each trip, they’d line all of us kids up from tallest to shortest and snap a photo. Some years the sequence of who-stands-where would change if someone had had a well-timed growth spurt.’ These pics are both sweet and hilarious to look back on.

Naturally, the tradition continues with the 10 children in her family’s next generation. FOR THE BEST CANDID SHOTS: Have your kids stand with their backs to you. Then shout, ‘Turn around!’ Start snapping immediately. FOR A GREAT POSED PIC: Forget asking them to say ‘cheese’. Ask for a silly-face shot and while they recover from the hilarity, take your smiling picture.
