SAFETY FIRST

Intasafety Smoke Detector (R210, Builders Warehouse) Intasafety is a relatively new local brand but, unlike its competitors, its focus is purely on fire equipment, so you can bet it has covered all bases when it comes to specs and certifications. This unit has a hush function, which allows you to quickly silence a false alarm without resetting the whole unit.

EARLY WARNING

Yale Smoke Detector (R249, Makro) Better known for its padlocks and door locks, Yale also produces homesafety gear. Like most smoke detectors it doesn’t respond to heat but is triggered by particles in the air (typically smoke). It alerts you with a blinking light and an audio signal when the battery is low.
