GQ (South Africa)

YEAR OF TWENTY

-

SOUTH AFRICANS HABITUALLY DOMINATE EVERY FIELD THEY TOUCH.

With that in mind, we thought the time was right to create a new celebration, right here at home, to honour the achievements of the men and women who define our culture today – and who propel us forward.

What better way to celebrate 20 years of GQ in South Africa than honouring what continues to make this country so special? And after a tumultuous year, which showed us in no uncertain terms where our biggest points of pain are, on every front, 2019 also brings us several reminders of what is worth celebrating.

For us, the heart of SA is its people. When we unite, wehther in protest, in sport, or even just in song, we fully unlock our power to change the world and change the worlds of those around us. It’s this spirit that’s driven us to select a group of men and women, who you’ll meet over the next few pages who challenge and inspire us, who remind us who we really are, and who give us hope for the future, in 2020 and beyond. »
