PEOPLE AREN’T

JUST TURNING THEIR HEADS ; they’re stopping in their tracks. Awestruck.

is Bentley Continental GT in heels has enormous street cred. It’s not for the timid.

Out of South Africa’s coldest hamlet comes the Mad Max-style Intercontinental, created and built by Glamotion Limited in exclusive numbers. It transformed a rst-generation Bentley Continental GT into an adventurer, ready for the Kalahari, Namibia or the Okavango Delta by tting 285mm-wide 21-inch wheels, adjusting its wheel arches accordingly, raising its suspension and doubling the pressure of its air shocks. is brutally sexy vehicle still uses the electronic management system of the Bentley, allowing you to adjust its height and control the quality of the ride.

It’s surprisingly smooth on the road, despite its knobbly tyres – I expected a rougher ride. It can do o -road, especially dunes, with ease, thanks to its all-wheel drive and the enormous torque of its engine, yet it remains a smooth-riding, luxury car.

Glamotion o ers di erent options of roof racks, accessories, headlight bars, sand pads, jerrycans and tyre pro les. One customer’s chosen a camou age paint job with canvas seats inside. A security company’s interested in two bullet-proof matteblack versions for VIP transport.

e question onlookers most frequently ask me when I pull over in the Ben Interconti is: ‘How much?’ It doesn’t come cheap, that’s for sure. As shown, the Intercontinental will set you back around R1.6 million. And Glamotion isn’t planning on stopping there. ey already have upli ing ideas for other luxury brands. Watch this space.
