Adidas developed its 4D lattice midsole over four years, combining years of athlete data and Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology to produce a 3D printed midsole precision-tuned to specific patterns of movement. The brand is the first to implement this technology and claims it offers 23% more cushioning and generates over three times as much forward motion. ‘It looks and feels great and provides the perfect mix of comfort and performance for my training runs,’ says South African 400m world record holder Wayde van Niekerk.
