Raffle for Patrick’s cards

-

GRAAFF-REINET — Patrick Mazantsana was a familiar figure to many over the years on the streets of Graaff-reinet, where he could often be found sitting at a corner with a display of his intricate wirework cards.

The cards have been popular with locals and tourists alike, and many have found their way to farflung corners of the world.

Sadly Patrick passed away at Midland Hospital in August, shortly before his 39th birthday. He was not married and lived in Umasizakhe with his mother and family.

In order to raise some money for his family over the festive season, Nicola Beldon of Country Mouse has organised a raffle, with the prize being six of Patrick’s handmade wire Christmas cards. Tickets are only R10 each and can be bought from Country Mouse in Church Street.

The draw will take place on Friday, December 22.
