Dear Friends of Vuyani Safe Have

-

It is with grateful hearts that we look back on the past year – we have been blessed indeed!

We are grateful for every local business contributing to our needs annually or on a regular scale by giving donations in kind or monetary donations. The churches in town also give contributions or assist in other ways - thank you.

Then we have many wonderful people reaching out to our children by donating good second hand or sometimes new clothes or bedding and linen, foodstuff and even organising some birthday party every two months.

This year we received funding from the LOTTO to buy a new Toyota Quantum bus for the transport of our children.

We have regular donors from overseas and this is one time when we benefit from the weak Rand. Here we need to mention that a very dear friend of Vuyani and many schools and individuals in Graaff-reinet, Oom Theo Tijssen of the Netherlands, passed away this year. His love and care for the children of Graaff-reinet is already missed.

Vuyani receives funding from big South African Corporations. We are also the beneficiaries in Graaffreinet of the KFC Add Hope Feeding Program.

We are not able to thank every donor, but please go to our website: www.vuyanisafehaven.co.za for a full list of donations of the past year. If by mistake your name or your company’s name was omitted, please feel free to remind us of your donation.

Last but not the least we thank the local Area and Service Office of the Department of Social Development for their ongoing support of Vuyani Safe Haven.

Vuyani’s children visited the Department of Social Development’s Area Office to wish them a merry Christmas and thank them for their support through the year.

We wish you all the richest Blessings for Christmas and 2018!

Please note that Vuyani Safe Haven will be closed for the period December 15 to January 5, 2018. According to the Children’s Act re-unification services should be rendered to all children placed in alternative care, but always taking into account the best interest of the child. After a thorough screening process all Vuyani children are on holiday leave with suitable family members or prospective foster parents or approved holiday parents.

They will be monitored weekly during this time and will start returning from the 5th of January. All Vuyani children will be back when the schools reopen. Contact persons while the Vuyani office is closed: Hildegarde Brummer - Social worker: 082 472 7938 Riana van der Ahee - PR & Marketing:
